The opening speeches were given by Mr. Ismat Sattarov, Chair of the Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Dr. Deniz GÜÇER, the Secretary General of BRAF and the Member of the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTUK), and Ambassador Dr. Merve Safa KAVAKCI, the First Deputy Secretary General of the Permanent International Secretariat of Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) respectively.
The country reports highlighting the recent developments related to the audiovisual sectors in member states were presented by the representatives of the Member Authorities after the brief reminder of the 10th Annual Meeting by BRAF PS.
As a new concept adopted previously, the meeting continued with two panel sessions in the afternoon on the topics of “Legal framework for protection of children and its effective implementation” and “The role of media literacy and parental control in protection of children” under the main theme of “Protection of Children in Media Services”. The participants exchanged ideas and shared experiences in relation to national practices. During the discussions, the similarities and discrepancies in terms of regulations came into light, thus the need of further cooperation among stakeholders was underlined.
It was decided that the Presidency of the BRAF for 2025 was unanimously decided to hand over to the Albanian Audiovisual Media Authority.
The representatives of BRAF Member Authorities, namely the Albanian Audiovisual Media Authority, Azerbaijani Audiovisual Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bulgarian Council for Electronic Media, Georgian National Communications Commission, Greek National Council for Radio and Television, Moldovan Audiovisual Council, Romanian National Audiovisual Council, Serbian Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and Turkish Radio and Television Supreme Council, participated this successful Meeting.
